About Beauty
This black Beauty is, as her name implies, beautiful. Beauty came to Triple R through another rescue organization, so her history is largely unknown. She was pregnant when she arrived in late 2017, and she gave birth to a healthy colt several months later. She is built like a quarter horse, but her actual heritage is unknown, as is her age, which we estimate to be about 8 years.
For most of her time with Triple R, she was with mares, but she recently moved to a new foster home that she shares with Spirit, a gelding. She fell in love with Spirit immediately, but not before she showed him that she was the boss and taught him some basic horse manners. She appears to have been a brood mare in the past and, as a result, loves her male companions.
Since coming to Triple R, Beauty has had three months of professional training. The trainer worked on correcting her tendency to stop quickly, which we believe is a result of her having been a cow pony in the past. She has been ridden Western and loves going on trail rides. She’s not flighty or jumpy at all. She loads easily, tolerates the farrier, and is an easy keeper. She has had an injury in the past, resulting in arthritis in her right hock. So, although she can be taken on trail rides and ridden at a trot or canter, she is not likely to be a suitable horse for more intense riding disciplines.
